SUMMARY - Fleeing from religious persecution, Viorica Bantea came to the United States from Romania in 1989. She and her seven children used to rely on public aid to survive. Slowly, she worked her way up from being a janitor at a medical clinic, to now fulfilling her dream of becoming a physician's assistant. Bantea relates personally to the struggles her patients have. She encourages her patients to not only take care of their bodies, but also their souls, and uses her personal story of success to inspire. "You do good and good comes back," she said. "I believe in that strongly."
